The Confucius institute at the university of dar es salaam, Tanzania, recently held the Chinese language proficiency test (HSK) at four test centers, including the university of dar es salaam and mbaya university of science and technology. Statistics show that in the first half of 2018, 976 students took part in the Chinese proficiency test in Tanzania, nearly the total number of last year. 近日，坦桑尼亚达累斯萨拉姆大学孔子学院在达累斯萨拉姆大学、姆贝亚科技大学等四个考点同时举行了汉语水平考试（HSK），共有303名考生参加了一级至五级的考试。据统计，2018年上半年坦桑尼亚参加汉语水平考试的考生人数达到976人，接近去年全年的总人数。近年来，坦桑尼亚国内掀起了一股学习中文的热潮。越来越多的当地人出于对学习中文的热忱，对中华文化的向往，报名成为孔子课堂的学员。

"My Chinese name is zhang feng, and I am very lucky to be the local Chinese teacher of Confucius institute at the university of dar es salaam. I'm used to learning Chinese with students and they really enjoy learning the language." Emanuel is the first native Chinese teacher to work at the Confucius institute at the university of dar es salaam. He studied for a master's degree in Chinese international education at Harbin normal university. After three years of study, Emanuel chose to return home as one of the first three native Chinese language teachers in Tanzania.

“我的中文名叫张丰，很幸运能成为达累斯萨拉姆大学孔子学院的本土中文老师。我已经习惯了和学生在一起学习中文，他们非常喜欢学习这门语言。”伊曼纽尔是达累斯萨拉姆大学孔子学院的第一位在岗本土中文教师。他曾在中国哈尔滨师范大学攻读汉语国际教育专业研究生。三年学成后，伊曼纽尔选择回国成了坦桑尼亚首批三名本土中文教师之一。

"When I was in college, I saw a lot of Chinese companies working in Tanzania, but many of the local workers only spoke swahili, so it was difficult to communicate with the Chinese." Emanuel, who originally studied management at the university of dodoma in Tanzania, switched to teaching Chinese because of the huge demand for Chinese language talents brought about by the increasingly close economic and trade exchanges between the two countries.
